A Cheap Cruise = A Great Budget Travel!

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

Cruise ship vacations are one of the most affordable ways to travel almost anywhere – from the glaciers of Alaska to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America.

There are many types of cruises – from luxury cruises to the budget cruise that provides value for very little money. One advantage of going on a cruise is the variety of entertainment. It ranges from cinema, bowling alley, swimming pool, casino, volleyball, basketball, gymnasium, golf and many more.

Most advertised cruise prices are based on double occupancy. There are less cheap cruise deals for solo travelers, since the single supplements can add quite a bit to the price of the cruise. It is always a good idea to inquire about special single rates if you are traveling alone.

The location of the cabin is another important consideration when booking a cruise. The interior cabins on the lower parts of the ship are generally the least costly, while the higher, larger cabins with ocean views are the most expensive. If you have never taken a cruise before, it is a good idea to get advice from those who have experienced this sort of budget travel. They can provide valuable insights on the best balance of cost and comfort for your first cruise.

Just like its many options, the excitement and adventure on cheap cruise holidays are boundless too. Many cruise passengers love the off-ship excursions that are offered at every port. Water sports lovers will revel at the opportunity to water ski, jet-ski and scuba dive. For instance, guests on a Mediterranean cruise may enjoy a night at the opera or a day at a local soccer game, while visitors to Caribbean ports of call may enjoy diving and enjoying the local coral reefs.

These cheap cruises also offer a wide range of dining options. From buffet to fine dining, all you need to do is pick one that suits your palate. And best of all, many cruises’ buffet are open day and night. Among the only things that are not included in the typical cruise are alcoholic beverages and shore excursions. Many of the higher priced cruises may include these extras. If the shore excursions and drinks are not included, be sure to get a price list for shore excursions and drinks.

It is often possible to save money on shore excursions while on a cruise by booking the tours locally at portside instead of going with the cruise line. Just be sure that the excursion you booked will get you back to the ship on time.

And when night arrives, you can select from discos and bars to casinos and theatres. Some cruise ships even offer classes such as poker or ballroom dancing. These cruises are often popular for those who are looking for a budget travel. After all, lodging, meals and entertainment costs are included on the cruise. Check the Internet or local travel agent to get the best cheap cruise available.

Getting the best deal on a cheap cruise requires time, planning, perseverance and research. Shop as early as possible especially for popular destinations like the Caribbean or Mexico in the high season.

It is always possible to save money when you travel during the off-season. This is often a great budget travel strategy. For instance, even though it is the middle of the winter and most people are not thinking about vacations where you are, it may be warm and inviting in many tropical cruise destinations. It is important to check out the local weather and to avoid the rainy season in the destinations you are considering.

Cruise lines have been know to offer some cheap cruise deals at the last minute to move unsold cabins or avoid leaving with a less than full passenger load. There are many last minute travel newsletters with these sort of budget travel deals. So be on the lookout for it.

Mobile Blogging or Moblogs – The New Era of Communications

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

One of the most exciting phenomenon in the world of blogging is mobile blogging. This is sweeping the blogosphere. A lot of bloggers are attracted to blogging because they enjoy being able to quickly make updates for their visitors.

Mobile blogs, which are also know as “moblogs,” take this concept to the extreme by allowing users to post to the blog literally while things take place.

Moblogs and mobloggers keep visitors informed about the good and bad events as they happen all around the world. The effect of this is that international communication is faster and much more accurate.

Most people think that blogging is limited because you have to be at home at your computer in order to post to your blog. However, mobile blogging has allowed bloggers to update their blogs from anywhere. This is a new era of web-based communications that can happen from any location. Moblogging can happen from just about anywhere.

Mobile blogging is just getting started and the technology has only recently hit the global market. The first moblog came about a decade ago and it has only been in the last several years that mobile devises are able to appeal to consumers. Now with camera phones and other mobile technologies, bloggers are going away from their home computers and taking their blogging to the streets.

Moblogging is becoming more and more popular and mobloggers are quickly attracting the attention of the entire blogging community. It is clear that the trend of moblogging is here to stay.

This is all possible because of mobile devices that are hitting the market. A few years ago only a few people had camera phones, now they are everywhere. A moblog can be updated from anywhere. This new breed of blogger can post pictures from sports events or from a public debate at the event. The updates will appear on the blog instantly.

Bloggers can provide the same kind of coverage that live television provides. It will only be a matter of time before mobile video makes a strong showing on blogs.

This new technology puts moblogging on the cutting edge of today’s technology. Keep your eye out for up and coming moblogs.

You could use a moblog to increase the immediacy of your content. You can keep your visitors glued to their screens. Think about how you can use the communication tool to revolutionize your business. Keep charging. God bless you.

Try Out The Product Idea Of Your Home Based Business

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

In order to avoid major disappointment, before fully launching your Home Base Business Idea, you might want to get a few customers.
If your product is relatively low-value, or you’re providing a service, then it shouldn’t be too much trouble to get a few customers and do a few dry runs. Do them a generous discount (you could even do it for free), to make sure that everything runs smoothly and the customers are satisfied at the end of it.
For example, let’s say you plan to be a landscape gardener from home. You could borrow the tools, and volunteer to do a garden for some kind of charity project – this is good, since it means that you’re doing something nice for charity, but they’re not paying for perfection, so it’s not that bad if small things go wrong. You should then go through all the motions as you would once your business is stablished, and see what comes out at the other end.
Here’s another one. Let’s say you’re an Italian living outside Italy, and you plan to start a home business cooking pasta in your kitchen and delivering it to customers (you’d be surprised how many home businesses there are in the catering industry). You could make a rough draft of a leaflet (with discounted prices) and deliver it to a small number of homes in the area, until you get a little response. You could then see if it really is feasible to make and deliver these things, and whether there would be any profit in it.
The best dry-runs, though, are the ones where you can get one client at full price. This generally happens in the kind of industry where most transactions are business-to-business, and go through a bidding process. If you’re doing something like freelance writing or artwork, this can let you take on one ‘job’ without being committed to any more afterwards. If you find it’s not for you, at least you haven’t lost too much – and if you love it, then you’re getting valuable experience before you try to take it full-time.
When you try your business out, make sure to do some kind of survey – you could hand it to the customer, include it with your delivery, or even phone up and say that you’re just calling to make sure everything is alright. Following up this way isn’t just good for you; it’s also good customer service.
One of the most common things I hear when I tell people to try out their home business ideas is that a small-scale trial wouldn’t do the idea justice, since they ‘plan to make money on scale’.
Never, ever rely solely on scale. You think that supplies will get magically cheaper if you’re doing ten orders a day instead of one? Guess again. You think you’re going to save time by doing lots of orders at once? You might save some, but not as much as you might think. When you’re trying to see whether your business is viable, you should always err on the conservative side – the thinner your margins are, the easier it is for something unexpected to happen and destroy them altogether.
You’re cheating yourself if you don’t try out your business before you start it – you’ll be throwing yourself in at the deep end, and there won’t be a lifeguard. Trying it out gives you the opportunity to make your beginner mistakes (there will be a few, I guarantee it), and to build confidence in yourself and your business without taking pointlessly large amounts of risk.
Remember you are now living the dream of owning your own business and working from home. Don’t blow this opportunity. Do things right and you won’t have any regrets?

Checking And Charging Motorcycle Batteries

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

How are Motorcycle Batteries Rated?

The amp/hour (AH) capacity is the basis for rating motorcycle batteries. For example, a 12AH battery can produce one amp of current flow for 12 hours, or two amps for six hours. In order to calculate the amount of time needed to use up a fully charged motorcycle battery by turning the lights on, we have to take power in watts, and divide it by voltage, which gives us the current draw in Amps. Therefore, a 72 watts beam and tail together, divided by 12 volts equals a 6-amp draw. So in 2 hours, the 12AH battery is dead.

Checking Motorcycle Battery:

If you decide to check if your new motorcycle battery is done correctly, follow this actual factory-recommended service procedure.

If the battery is not a maintenance-free type which doesn’t have a vent tube, unwrap the battery, unkink the vent tube and snip about a half-inch off the end. Fill it with electrolyte midway (between the high and low level markings on the case) and leave it undisturbed for one or two hours. Remember, the battery will still be at only 65% of full charge at this point. Add electrolyte again if required.

If your battery is a refillable lead-antimony type, it should be charged at one-third of its rated capacity in amp/hours for four to five hours to get it to full charge. Maintenance-free type battery should be charged with a constant-current charger that can drive the charge with as much as 16.9 volts. This should be closely supervised so as not to exceed full charge.

Next, recheck the electrolyte level and add water if required. Let the battery cool so the case contracts enough to fit into its typically tight little holder. Run the new breather tube, if the battery comes along with one, carefully through the original factory routing.

Things to Remember when Charging the Battery:

1.First of all, it is important to remember that Red is positive and Black is negative in order to avoid any accidents such as short-circuits and nasty shocks.

2.The charger should be compatible with the motorcycle battery, and give a greater output than the battery voltage but not too high.

3.Make sure the connections are clean and the electrolyte is at the upper level, and don’t fill the cells up to the very top of the battery.

4.You can either use an optimizer on the battery which can effectively switch off the battery when it’s charged and prevents overheating, or disconnect it manually.

5.It is recommended to put your battery on charge every two or three weeks.

6.An upper and lower level battery should have all the cells on the upper level, not over and never under the lower level.

7.For topping off the low cells, use only distilled water.

8.The minimum charge for a new batter should be at least for 8 hours.

9.If you have a dry battery, fill the cells slowly and leave the battery for around half an hour.

You Have An Idea For A Home Business…Now Do You Have The Time, Qualifications, Space, Etc…

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

You’ve made the decision to start a Home based business…Although this is a big step; you have a long way to go before you become a success. Don’t be discouraged though because you’ve got this far and most people don’t even get to this step. However, it’s time to ask yourself: what exactly do you plan to do? What’s your big home business idea – and, more importantly, how is it going to make you any money? There are quite a few ways to figure out whether your idea is a good one or a bad one. Basically, it all comes down to the practicalities of the thing.

Do you have the time to do this? You know that there are only so many hours in a day, and you want to save some of them for yourself. If you’re planning on, for example, making small products and selling them, will you really have enough time to take orders, make them, pack them up and post them? If you’re not careful, you can find yourself doing tedious work all day and all night for $2 per hour.

Remember that time is money: the only way to make the income you want is set an hourly rate you’re happy with, and then work out pricing as your rate plus expenses. If you don’t have enough time to do the work, then increase the rate or hire someone who does. It’s simple supply and demand.

Are you qualified to work for you? No I’m not trying to insult you. One of the traps that people most often fall into, is wanting to take a skill they have and turn it into a home business, without realizing that their customers will expect them to have formal qualifications. Sure, you were a full-time mother for years, but people would still like you to have a child-care qualification. This goes double if you plan to become some kind of therapist – if you don’t have the qualifications, how are people supposed to know that you’re not just making it up as you go along?

What’s more, qualifications serve to create scarcity in the market. A business will do better if only qualified people can provide its services than if any joker can. That’s why people like doctors and dentists command such high wages: they have to study for years to get their skills, which creates scarcity in the marketplace.

If you already have the skills, you should find it easy to pass the tests – and who knows, you might learn something new. Enroll on an evening course at your local college (try to avoid ‘distance learning’, as the prices are usually stupidly high compared to what you get out of it). It can be good fun, and you’ll probably end up with some good contacts in your chosen industry. Many people have started better home businesses by creating a ‘network’ of others they know doing the same business in the local area. This lets everyone specialize in their best area.

Do you have the space? If you live in a bachelor apartment and you will be shipping truck tires around the world…well you might have a problem. If you’re planning to have deliveries to your house and then send items out to people, you need to think it through very carefully. Do you really have enough space to act as a warehouse? Will you be cutting the size of your home in half for the sake of your business? It’s also worth considering whether you can really let big delivery Lorries drive up into your road without doing some damage – there’s nothing worse than getting your first delivery and finding that the lorry didn’t fit in your street and the boxes don’t fit in your house.

The best way to solve this problem is to make sure that your home business doesn’t require any inventory. Home businesses where you provide a service – whether it’s over the phone, on the Internet or in person – almost always work out better than ones that involve you packing and posting things.

Of course, even for more service-oriented businesses, space can still be a problem: if you plan to be a fitness trainer from home, make sure you have somewhere to put all that fitness equipment!

Lastly but probable most importantly Money….Ah yes Money even in a home based business. Consider the kind of expense you’d need to go to when you start your business, as well as the day-to-day running costs. Then, and this is the vital part, work out the maximum number of customers you think you could deal with, and cut it in half (you won’t actually get that many customers, at least to begin with). Work out how much you’d have to charge each of those customers to break even for your first year. If the price comes out far too high, then it’s time to think again.

The Size of the Castle is in the Eyes of the Beholder

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

The rapidly appreciating home values throughout Phoenix have made moving up into newer or larger homes a huge challenge for many families. Although these owners may have substantial equity built up in their first home, making the leap to another larger home may also mean substantial jumps in mortgage payments. But while some home owners feel stymied by the increasing home values, others are finding it a unique opportunity to simplify their lives.

Many communities have seen a trend of “bigger is better”, especially in the real estate arena. There are a number of neighborhoods that have large, boxy houses perched on small lots, with little thought to character or charm. In 2001, Sarah Susanka wrote a book that captured a lot of attention – The Not So Big House: A Blueprint For The Way We Really Live. This book emphasized that small homes can offer a great deal a beauty, charm and style, all without the price tag of the McMansions.

In Phoenix, many homeowners are taking this trend to heart. They are selling their large, family homes and moving into smaller homes that are a better fit for their lifestyle. If you think these smaller homes are the “starter homes” of old, think again. These homes may be smaller and may be streamlined, but that’s where the similarity ends.

These homes are elegant and offer custom-built features, generous, open floor plans, luxurious pools and spas, easy access to golf courses, and plenty of room for entertainment. The homeowners also realize a great deal of equity from the sale of their family home – money they can use to buy a smaller, but more luxurious home and even have money left over to invest, purchase a second home, put into a college fund, or even help other generations get into the housing market.

The trend of downsizing also creates opportunity for younger home buyers. As more of the baby boom generation decides to move down to smaller homes throughout Phoenix, it increases the inventory of family homes available for sale. An increase of inventory may soften the prices for the family home, making it a little more affordable for younger buyers that previously wouldn’t have been able to afford to buy a home.

Buying a home for retirement isn’t the same as getting into a retirement home. The baby boom generation is alive and vital, with home needs that reflect their vitality and healthy pursuit of life.

Are Reciprocal Links A Thing of the Past?

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

Reciprocal links. This is the current SEO hot-topic. You have a site you are trying to build up. Even Google states the best way to find your site is via links to it from other sites. The Jagger update is making the SEO world guess at what is ok and why.

Google recommends natural-type links, meaning on-topic. Examining the search results seems to support this by showing that backlinks from sites with themes like your own are worth more than links from totally unrelated sites. This makes sense in that sites on the same topic are much more of an authority so their “vote” carries a little more weight.

Many people have been saying that reciprocal links are dead. Many sites that had a mass amount of general backlinks did in fact fall in their ranking within Google. In reality it was because the links were unrelated so their value they contributed to the site when down.

The general rule of thumb to decide how valuable a link to your site is, is to pretend you are a visitor on the site linking to you. If you were interested in the topic, is it a link you would follow? The more likely ( from a topic standpoint ) , the more the backlink is worth. Whether or not you have a link back to that site irrelevant.

Topics like backlinks and Google’s opinion is actually pretty easy to solve, or at least helps predict what they are really looking for. Google is looking to sort out the web as if their presence did not exist. That is, they prefer no optimization for google. What this means in backlinking shows in the Jagger update: on-topic backlinks and reciprocal link trading are natural and would happen and should happen. Backlinks between totally unrelated sites, while still having a value, are not valued as strongly as sites that would be an authority on that topic.

One thing that should be noted about building backlinks is it should appear natural. Paying a monthly fee and within seconds having 5,000 backlinks to your site is blatantly unnatural and stands out like a sore thumb to Google. If both you and a webmaster mutually agree to exchange links, then you’ll be safe.

Reciprocal links are most definitely not dead. Backlinks, whether one-way or reciprocal, are still valued by Google, and quality/authoritative links are valued even more. Quite simply, even Google recommends beneficial links, and without them your popularity will take much longer to rise.

How to Reduce Your Mortgage by 10 Years or More?

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

A big rise in home ownership over the past 20 years means that people are in debt because of mortgage borrowing. Invariably, a mortgage is a huge and life long commitment and can go into ones retirement. There is evidence that a mortgage loan can run into couple of generations in some countries. For example, father buys a home for himself and the grand children finish paying for it. Luckily, it is not as bad as that in the western society yet.

Good news is that there are ways to reduce your monthly instalments in respect of your mortgage. Lower monthly outgoings can mean an increase in your disposable income. Bigger disposable income helps to improve the quality of your life. Better and improved quality of life does not stop there, below are two strategies to help you get rid of the burden of mortgage debt:-

Switch your mortgage between lenders.

In the absence of switching lenders on a daily basis, you can switch your mortgage between different lenders and each time taking advantage of the best deal. For example, Bank of America is offering a discounted deal at the introductory rate of 2.99% fixed for 3 years. The normal arrangement with discounted deals is that the interest rate reverts back to the standard variable rate at the end of that initial 3 year discounted period.

If the saving you make via this special deal translates into say $3,000 per year. You have the option of reducing you total mortgage by $3,000 by making a lump sum payment $3,000 to your lender at the end of the year and reduce your total borrowing. Over three years, you can reduce your borrowing by $9,000.

At the end of that three year special deal, look for some other lender with a similar or better deal and just switch your mortgage. But, it will cost me money to switch lenders? Not at all. Most lenders will cover all your switching costs. Taking advantage of another three year discounted deal will result in another $9,000 saving. You can switch and save money for the life of your mortgage and make yearly lump sum payments until your mortgage is paid in full.

How much money have I saved & how many years can I shave off my mortgage from these savings?
The money you save by the discounted deal over 4 years is equal to two year’s mortgage payment. Therefore, over 20 years of switching between lenders you will shaved 10 years off your mortgage. For example, you will have reduced your 30 years mortgage to 20 years in a straight line.

Opt for a daily interest rate mortgage and not for an APR (Annual percentage rate) one.

Deals like one account offer you the chance to pay interest on your mortgage on a daily basis. The distinct advantage of one accounts is the total flexibility. It is a life style mortgage because it gives you payments holidays if you so desire. Smaller payments due to change in financial circumstances is also possible.

Total flexibility in the way you want to pay your mortgage also allows you to make higher payments towards your mortgage debt. An extra payment of $10, $20 or $40 per month, it is estimated, can reduce your total mortgage by as much as 10 years.

Flexible mortgage does not need to be switched between lenders every three years. So, you can save yourself the hassle of switching between lenders. You can choose to make lower payments but if you want to pay your mortgage off early then pay a bigger instalment than required and you would have paid your mortgage ten or so years before time.

Finally, we have outlined two methods of reducing your mortgage payments. I am sure there are other equally valid methods and products on the market. We recommend a thorough search of the market and products before making a commitment.

43+ Million New Users Are Waiting For Arabic SEO

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

The answer: Form your Arabic SEO plan and team now while your competitors are afraid to. (You will see why later in this article.)

You may be thinking, “Here we go again. First I spent money on Chinese translation. Now you want me to spend money on Arabic translation and localization, too? Will I get the return I expect?”

You may know that English is the language of choice on the Net, accounting for 70% of today’s 12 billion websites. So, if you decide to “go Arabic”, will anyone really see your efforts? If you understand and can deploy some of the new IT trends, the answer should be yes. See below for these trends.

In a press release dated April 26, 2006, European search engine Seekport, along with its the Saudi Arabian partner MITSCO Group, announced plans to launch the Internet search engine “Sawafi” (“sandstorm” in Arabic) later this year. Sawafi is specifically designed to meet the challenges of the Arabic language vs. Net presence.

Specifically, “Everything is to play for Arab world of 280 million people, where Internet penetration is low. There are also large expatriate Arab communities in Europe and North America. There are only 100 million Web pages right now in Arabic, and that’s nothing. It’s only 0.2% of the total worldwide.”

Company spokesmen stated, “The search engine index is to provide a complete range of all Arabic language websites, in combination with English and French language contents from Arab countries. An important factor will be the adaptation of search to the specific needs of the Arabic user while addressing the numerous peculiarities and dialect variations of the Arabic language. Current search algorithms in the usual Internet search engines are hardly capable of observing even the simplest morphological conditions required to process Arabic-language contents in a meaningful way for users. That is why search engines have so far been under-used in Arabic.”

Are you still not convinced that Arabic SEO is worth your time and money? Via its blog, Google recently activated its Beta version of its online Arabic translation tool. One of the goals is to make the Arabic-language more versatile in Internet terms. This is in addition to Google’s current Arabic search engine efforts. Can improvements based on the new Sawafi competition be far away? What about Yahoo and the other majors?

Now it’s time to go back to your Arabic SEO. Where and how can you tap into the online Arabic-speaking market? By finding a search engine optimization company that specializes in Arabic-language search engines and that has top-notch English to Arabic translation talent.

Your Arabic SEO firm should also understand that there are many Arabic-speaking markets (Saudi Arabia vs. Iran, for example) that require different translation, keyword and tag strategies. They will also need to understand the Arabic- (and English-) based search engine algorithms and placement techniques. This type of knowledge is imperative for you to reach your target market.

So, how do you get started? To be honest, you are going to need to do some research. Search engines don’t show much under Arabic SEO so a better venue is Arabic website-specific forums and message boards. Or, try contacting a proven Arabic translation services provider that offers localization.

I never said that going Arabic would be easy, but the potential payoffs are well worth the effort in terms of future profits. Without SEO, you will get nothing.

MLM Phone Leads Will Scare Someone, But It Shouldn’t Be You!

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

In network marketing it has been said you will never become successful until you do the things successful people do. Unfortunately that means making phone calls to new prospects and that does the majority of you in. But wait. What if you knew the secret to working your mlm phone leads. Would that change your outlook on doing this unpeasant task? It might. Let’s find out.

MLM leads with phone numbers are a huge advantage to you because you know why you are calling and they don’t. Think about that. You control everything that is about to happen. Quality mlm phone leads are going to provide you with some valuable information that you can use to your advantage.

You are going to know their name, address, phone number, and email address. Many times you wll know even more things like why they want to make money, how much they want to earn, how much they have to get started with, how many hours they have a week
to work, and so on.

This allows you to start a filtering process that will become the key to your success. Obviously you are going to want to call the prospects who present a better prospect for success. Someone who has 25 hours a week to work and $200 to get started could be
a better prospect than someone who has $0 to get started and 5 hours a week to work.

You know everything about them and they know nothing about you. They don’t know how lucky they are that you are calling, how successful you are, where you live, how many hours you are willing to work helping them, why your program is the best, and on and on.

If you will just relax and confidently pick up the phone and call your mlm leads you have it might hard be for some of you, but it does get easier. And to be truthful with you, you have just done soemthing right there that 95% of the network marketers will not do. Is it uncomfortable? It might be at first but it starts to get fun because there is nothing more rewarding than helping people while helping yourself.

Think about this. What are your options. Have you already talked to all of your friends and relatives? Generally most people do not really start building their business until they get out of their comfort zone and start finding the people that will help
them build their business.

A good quality mlm phone lead is a tremendous source of future business and future business partners for you. Becoming good at picking up the phone and calling these leads can be the key to your future success.

So I say pick up the 500 pound telephone and start doing what the majority of the people will not do. Be in a hurry to let people know why you are calling and how lucky they are you did.
